Habla Errr Weekly Blog – Week 2

Habla Errr Weekly made its debut on May 31 featuring Dancehall greats Mr. Lexx, Danny English, and Alozade. You can find the recap of that episode here.

Following a successful launch of our “Habla Errr Weekly” live series, we kicked off the second week with the headline act, veteran Reggae Artiste Abijah on June 14! Mixing Lab handled hosting duties and live beatboxing while DJ Dr. Love spun some of our favorite tunes, this week’s live event took a trip to the Blue Mountains for the right and natural vibe for this performance. Abijah helped to set the mood from start to finish from MCing during Dr. Love’s set, to firing off track after track as Mixing Lab skillfully beatboxed, and he was welcomed greatly by thousands of viewers. Though Abijah had the audience cheering away for his many singles and covers, the live erupted when he unleashed his ultimate classic, “Revelation”! Dancehall kicked off our weekly series, but a Reggae set helped to further solidify that we’re in for the long haul of providing great entertainment during and after the quarantine.

Habla Errr Weekly Blog – Week 3

Following 2 successful stagings of our “Habla Errr Weekly” series, we welcomed the great Ryme Minista as the next performer. On Father’s Day, June 21, we took the event to Montego Bay to shake things up with the Mobay Boss! For over an hour viewers were tuned in as Ryme Minista played around with whatever riddim Mixing Lab beatboxed his way, and ran through some of his many hits including “Banga Ready”, “True Story”, “Gonna Be Ok”, “Easy Yuh Dead”, and “Fall In Love” before giving fellow artiste Yanky Spanky a few minutes on the Mic as he performed a few songs including the popular track, “Everything Braff”. It was nothing but good vibes and unity as we were excited to give you even more quarantine entertainment.

Habla Errr Weekly Blog – Week 1

Sunday May 31, 2020 saw the debut of a series that would become something popular, the “Habla Errr Weekly” series! Brought to you by Mixing Lab The Beatboxer, RoRo Jammings Productions, and Medz Productions, many were tuned in for what would be a continuous stream of good music, and great performances. Hosted by Mixing Lab and music juggling by Mello FM’s DJ Dr. Love, the first live episode took many back in time.

For Habla Errr Weekly’s premiere held at Krush Proof Studios, Dancehall greats Mr. Lexx, Danny English, and Alozade were billed to perform. With Mixing Lab gearing up with the Riddims, the artists came together like a Hip Hop cypher and took turns dropping tune after tune. While they switched between hit songs, previously released singles, and freestyles, Mr. Lexx gave us a performance of “Gonna Make Some Money”, Danny English with his signature gruff voice gave us a the classics “Party Time” which featured New Kidz and “Wow”, and Alozade stepped out like a giant with his classic, “Street Dreams”. It was all about nonstop vibes, good music, and unity in Habla Errr Weekly’s first staging, something that many enjoyed during the quarantine.

“Habla Errr Weekly” Brings Entertainment During The Pandemic

The Covid 19 pandemic has caused the world to change drastically. With positive cases rising, many sought the closure of many doors, measures to reduce and manage the spread of the Coronavirus, and adapting to a “new normal” way of life. In Jamaica, the entertainment industry was hit hard as outdoor events were canceled, and members of the entertainment industry received massive losses of income. Many however, are doing their part to bring back the entertainment in their own way, and generate other forms of income. The “Habla Errr Weekly” live series is one of those outlets doing its part to keep people entertained in the pandemic.

Brought together by Medz Productions, DJ/Beatboxer/Recording Artiste Mixing Lab who hosts the series, and RoRo Jammings Productions, “Habla Errr Weekly” is a series that spins some of your favourite songs, and provides live performances from some of your favourite artists. The series is broadcasted live every Sunday at 4PM on Mixing Lab’s Instagram page. In its early stages, it started as just a one-off Instagram Live broadcast that found Mixing Lab and friends playing popular singles for followers to hear. It was positively received, but the team wanted to do more with it. Over time, “Habla Errr Weekly” grew to having thousands of followers tuned in to enjoy the sessions, and securing a Sunday afternoon time slot for broadcasts. Since its inception, “Habla Errr Weekly” has become one of the local outlets to provide “Quarantine Entertainment”, and has created a safe space for those who miss outside entertainment.

Music juggling is handled mainly by DJ Dr. Love of Mello FM 88.1, but the series has given the duty recently to DJ Krush of Krush Proof Muzik, and will accommodate other DJs in the future. Mr. Lexx, Danny English, and Alozade were the first guest artistes to perform on the series, and the series has since seen performances by Pamputtae, D’Angel, Ryme Minista, Grampa Entatain, Stylex, Macka Diamond, Little Hero, Gaza Kim, Shane-O, Bay C, G Whizz, Tifa, and Nesbeth among many others. With the growing success of “Habla Errr Weekly”, plans are in motion to extend the platform including the addition of weekly Blogs and Newsletters on
